Can't wait to get my new toy!!!! :D

I've just had a son and me dad wants to buy me a camera, so i've been looking about and this seems to be canny.

Am no expert, in fact i point n click, but he insists it be a good camera (well, good for the price).

So i've been looking about and found this one.

Camera + 1GB SD £160

2700 Batteries £15 (already got a charger)

So whats the camera like? For that price i doubt i'll get better.

Agreed, it's a very good camera for the price. My local camera shop still sells it at £239, I think I paid £200 for mine in February.

Be warned, the LCD is quite soft and picks scratches up quite easily unless you always fold it away. Other than that I'm happy with it.

I'm very happy with it.

Its been mainly used for p&s family days out and the results have been great.

I've not used it for anything serious as I've got a DSLR for that sort of thing.

A highly recommended p&s with a bit of manual as and when required. So far I have taken around 300 shots with it and all have been with P mode which allows me to change ISO, metering, exposure etc and the camera chooses Aperture and Shutter speed.

The software supplied is ok though I just upload to laptop and then use Picassa to crop and upload to photobox.

Good fun camera! My dad has an A95 - almost identical apart from the pixel count - 5MP as opposed to 7.1MP on the A620 and the A620 is a lot quicker at startup.

Cheers, think am sold tbh.

£160 its bang in my ball-park especially if it doesn't get used as much as i think.

Looked at the A700, but it sounds like its not a good a camera, but has a better zoom, which really, doesn't bother me, the twisty LCD is more useful which the A700 doesn't have.

The A700 is a great camera. It has less megapixels than the A620, but the pictures are still great. It also seems to have less camera shake than other cameras I have used (mostly Sony's).

I'm happy with it simply because it's much smaller and compact than the A620, which I thought was a bit too bulky.

Check both reviews out at Steve's Digicams website.
