Well after selling my Technics Turntables cause not having the room to set them up - I have been dribbling over CD decks.

So I decided to plump for the creme de la creme :)

Have just placed an order for 2 Pioneer CDJ 1000 MK3's and a Pioneer DJM600 mixer. It was a package from a well known DJ shop. Also includes some £90 Sony headphones (DVRM700s).

Also ordered a Kamcase Flightcase to store it all in. When not using them means I can just whack the lid on them and store them against the wall.

Should have it all by Wednesday. Can't wait :D

I am jealous! :( I'm looking to sell my axis 9's and get some pioneer's but i can't really afford the 1000's. Will have to settle for the 800's.

Enjoy your new setup!

sweeet :D

i have the cdj800s and djm500 and they're awesome, enjoy your kit :D

pioneer stuff seems to ooze quality and durability, my mixer is 9 years old (got it 2nd hand) but still sounds damn good and works flawlessly, my old behringer was 9 months old and the the effects unit had broken and one of the faders was on the blink, and it sounded awful

pioneer all the way

For the 2 CD Decks, the Mixer, the Headphones and the flightcase it cost me a shade over 2.4k

I was tempted to go with the CDJ800's and the 2 Channel DJM 400 mixer, but then I'd always be thinking "well i just spent 1.5k - im not gonna be spending that again for ages - so for an extra 1k I can get the best and have no doubts that im missing out on things". If that makes sense :)

What do you play stuppy and how long have you been mixing for? Any plans to try and earn some money back from your investment?

Well,

I have had turntables for about 2-3 years. I had a collection of 200 trance and hard house vinyls. I don't mind some house tracks but my main passion is trance and hard dance/house.

Playing out to people is something I would love to do. But in that game it tends to be not how good a DJ you are, but who you know who can get you a spot to DJ. The number of dogcrap DJ's you see out and about the place who got their jobs just because they have a friend who helped them out getting the spot - annoys me no end.

As soon as I seen the thread title and was waiting for the page to load all I could think was "I hope he's ordered CDJ 1000s".

Very good mixer too :)

bloody hell  , nice one. i spent no-where near that on my decks and vinyl but get what you pay for *cough*£200*cough* :p

My arse dropped about an hour ago. I called the store where I ordered it from to check everything is ok and that it'll be delivered tomorrow. They said cause its over a grandsworth of gear - they need some proof of identity.

Cue me getting mad because I assume I have to post it in and wait for them to receive it blah blah. In the end I emailed it in and everyting is back on track!

RARH!

:D

Jesus wept.

So after the document fiasco - the dude emails back at about 11am saying "we are due a shipment of the CDJ1000's in today so if they arrive before the 2pm next day delivery cut off tiem you'll have ** order tomrrow"

Er, well when I ordered everything was in stock - i paid extra for next day delivery.

So I ring back at 3pm to see what is happening - the dude buggers off for 5mins and comes back and says my order is being packed and will be shipped tonight for delivery 2morrow. Nice one i think - expecting to have a shipping confirmation a couple of hours later.

Its now gone 9pm and I have no such email and logging into my account says "Processing Order" still on the order line.

I hope to god thats a technical problem and its just not caught up yet - otherwise I am going to be seriously pissy since I have a)paid extra for fast delivery, b)arranged for someone to be in the house all day and c)ordered when everything was in stock, only to be told their stock was arriving and not guarenteed to arrive before the delivery cut off time.

ALL IM SAYING IS... RECORDS,THAT ARE HARD TO FIND. If you get me ;)

If you've paid £2.4k for the kit I'd expect someone to carry them to your door on their back :D
