ok just ordered a new psu and gonna keep my 500w thermaltake as a spare . mostly because i want to get a 8800gt ( or a better graphics card) in the summer and dont have the juice at the moment.

i brought my self one of these:
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-005-CS&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=1084

seemed a good buy from a competitor for £66.61 inc postage. so i went for it.

just some questions first though:

does it have a 4 pin cpu power connector ?

is it going to last ?

are there any faults or problems i should know about ?

other than that will it go smoothly ?

seems like a good psu and a lot of people apparantly have it here.

so it should be good

Yes to all your questions, the HX range from Corsair come highly recommended on these forums, and speaking from experience (owning both 620 + 520) there are excellent. There have a five year warranty should it develope a fault, although I haven't heard about too many going wrong.

**Give it a shake when you get it, I had a screw inside my HX620, and it subsequently shorted:eek:

I've just ordered the Corsair HX620 off the recommendations I have seen. I have an 8800 GTX and while my Coolermaster iGreen 500w seemed to run it perfectly ok, the PSU fan was far too loud so I thought the best option was to upgrade the PSU to be on the safe side.

Should have changed the fan in the PSU tbh.

Voids the warranty but hey, it would be quieter!
