just ordered nikon D50

AHHHHHHHHH!

Got my D50 back yesterday, and the problems are still there, and more have cropped up! in servicing it, they (Nikon) made it worse!

They changed the imaging chip and not the ccd, even though they know its the ccd with the problem.

Getting a new body

FS!

Ok, calm now. :)

Well I finally had some time to have a play with my D50 After being sick for a few days :( I have to say I am really impressed with it, build quality I think is very good, and it feels just right in your hand. The images are amazing with the 50mm prime I have but I fear I will soon be spending out on a couple of lenses as it is rather limited, butit is first class ;) will be going to Duxford with it in a couple of weeks, this will be first real outing with it would be nice to get new lens for that.

I am waiting for some images to come back from photobox should arrive tomorrow I am really looking forward to seeing these. and some time today I will try to post some examples to show you.

I am so far over the moon with this camera and I think it is great value as well and would recomend to anyone.

One thing I wanted to ask is why the exif doesn't list ISO? is the same on all D50 or just mine?

Regards

Glad your loving yours mate. Good entry level aren't they? I noticed that on mine to. Although in Noise Ninjia I am able to find out the ISO number. Anyone know how to get around the ISO problem in the EXIF?

Ahh it isn't just mine then..still seems rather odd thing to not list ???
Do you any examples of images taken with your new flash ? an item that will be next on my shopping list.

just found this:

http://www.vandrasik.com/software/IsoFix12.zip
(requires .NET framework 1.1 to run)

quoted from the author (obtained from dpreview.com):

Quote: OK, Here is my fix for the EXIF ISO "bug". Nikon hides the ISO setting in the EXIF "MakerNotes" field. This program pulls it out of there and copies it to the standard EXIF ISO field. This makes the ISO setting viewable in PhotoShop and other programs that can't properly decode the Nikon MakerNote field. Works on images shot in JPG and images shot in NEF and converted with Nikon Capture or Nikon Browser / Nikon View.

To install, unzip all files to a temporary folder and run setup.exe. To use, right-click on a folder name and select "ISO Fix". The application will attempt to correct all JPGs in the folder.
