No, they're ace on ice and on spring snow / slush

No, something long and stiff with a good edge is needed for ice and slush, the longer the edge the more grip you have on ice, the longer the ski the more stable the ride is and hence the better the spring snow.

Be amn and get a pair of decent skis!

Blades are just plain gay and have no purpose.
