No its not a complete bargain but given the new one is £50 more im sure it worth it.....

You'll be good with your 2500k for a good while man I wouldn't have thought you'll see any bottlenecking.
Might be worth checking the MM to see how much the last 7950 sold for.

Nice jump up from the venerable 7950, however it should not struggle in WOW as it is still a solid card.
The i5 2500K is still a solid CPU so no dramas for a while yet
makes me think perhaps that there is an issue then....
Ive been tempted for a while to reinstall windows but I only had the 'upgrade' version of it and so installing it all again is a right pain
hopefully my 2500k wont bottleneck too much - ive clocked the living daylights out of it
My GTX 970 pairs beautifully with a 2500k.

A new 290x would be cheaper, faster and would have all of it's advertised vram.
There's only one 290x that's cheaper on OCUK currently and that's on a pre-order.
The 290x is not faster in all games, it's a case of the 970 winning in some titles, the 290x winning in others.

I just got my 970 2 weeks ago i went from a zotac 8800 amp to the 970, lol no jokes man, i love playing old games like pre 2008 pc games, snes, ps1, n64 so i never needed anything more but lately got the urge to play some newer rpg games so i got myself a high-end rig to start trying the new stuff out, the 970 is great but I have only tryed it on battlefield 3,4 games since i got it and they where boring so next maybe witcher 1,2 than 3 for me.
I got mine a couple of weeks ago when they were on offer for £269.99. It included a game worth £40.
The card is very good with no coil whine. It overclocks good as well

I'll be pairing a 970 with a 4Ghz 2500K next week.

Yea lets just forget that they say it has 4Gb memory but only really has 3.5. Who are we as consumers to suggest we are getting conned. Who cares its only money.
I'm not saying that. The 970's unique VRAM configuration is obviously a point to consider when purchasing a video card to suit your needs.
Comments like "includes the full advertised VRAM" are not particularly helpful, though, and just smack of point scoring.

Yeh my 2500k is clocked to 4.2 and I've got two SSD's - theoretically my system should fly with this new card - I'm honestly not bothered about the vram - I'll likely never max it out unless I get GTA and given the overall research that I've been reading, the 970 appears to come out on top in 51% of cases lol.
Overall I wanted to go back to nvidia this time and I'm sure I'll be glad I did
