Just over half way through the group stage - who's looking likely to win it?

Well if the last weeks taught you anything, you'd know it's a cup competition, anybody can, could and will beat anybody.

Hitting the ground running ain't all it, only takes one game and you're gone, insert the generic reasons as to why.

That being said, should the footballing gods not conspire, then it'd be Brazil.

Ofcourse, it won't be the french:)

Brazil > Argentina > Spain > Holland > Germany > England

Argy's > Brazil > > Spain > Germany > Holland > most teams > England

For me Holland have been poor, own goal and very few real chances to win the first game, absolute howler from the keeper to win the second again with very few decent chances apart from that. Until/if Robben comes back and the team plays far better and we see whose dropped you can't know, but they've got a weak group and have been scrapping wins by incredibly narrow margins.

Spain are a bit unknown, one game they lost but played well and rather dropped the goals because they were pushing so high up the field due to the level of domination and the Swiss defence is one of the best if not the best to be seen in a world cup for as long as I can remember.

I can easily see Spain putting 3-4 past the next couple teams which might push them to favourites.

Brazil have been rather poor, everyone was cheating yesterday, even Lucio went down and made an absolute meal of a tackle trying to get someone booked, and I've never seen him do that before. Fabiano's two handballs to get a 2nd, Kaka's generally very poor form and couple fluky passes in this game with 89minutes of being unable to find his team mates between the assists, all against a pretty poor Ivory Coast and North Korea, hardly impressive.

Argy's have played well but not against anyone good yet, Holland looked great in the Euro's against no ones, against better sides their passing game dissappeared and they were abysmal, no right back and a winger in there who can't defend, only Samuel looking good at the back, other two being dodgey, a better team might rip them open at the back.

No mention of Portugal yet, they've just won 7-0 against a side Brazil struggled to break down.

Dont really think Portugal have that good a chance tbh...they looked poor ion the first game and in this one they played better but lets be honest the NK's were pretty poor defensively compared to when they played the Brazilians in all honesty.

Still dont rule out Portugal though...they have as much chance as anyone else...their real test will be their group game against the Brazilians later on.
