Hey

Just received a U2713HM and am considering returning it or getting Dell to replace it due to backlight bleeding.
I thought I'd come on here and ask first. Am I better off asking Dell for a newer model or should i avail of OCUKs 14 day satisfaction service and get the ASUS PB278Q?

Thanks,

Zeal

Tell ocuk its faulty and ask them to collect it

You'd be charged though right? Claiming an item is faulty when it isn't? (charged for non-fault time and also for courier collection cost, no?)

Im on the look out for a monitor, and the reason I haven't opted to get one is I'm unsure how to return it if I'm not happy with it.

Yeah I'm not claiming fault when there isn't. The backlight bleed shouldn't be there. I'm pretty sure I'm justified.

Don't like monitor? Return monitor within a fortnight. Monitor faulty? Return monitor.

I was only wondering whether to return the monitor to OCUK and go for a different model, or try get Dell to send me a later version, I hear the June/July ones are a lot better.

How bad is it and are you sure it's not IPS glow as sometimes this is confused with backlight bleed.

This is what mine looked like in a Dark room. Mine was a Rev A00.

That looks quite bad, I could not see any bleed on mine with the naked eye.

I would either return to retailer or get Dell to replace. If you get Dell to replace you will loose your right to a refund.

Would have got one myself but the backlight bleed has put me off as well. Looks like the ill be getting the Asus PB278Q at the end of the week. Not my first choice but I dont fancy returning monitor after monitor to get one that works.
