Just reinstalled GTA V and black screen

So as the title says I've reinstalled the game but when I try to launch it all I get is a black screen ( do they matter? ), anyone know how to fix this?

Did you have any modifications prior to reinstalling? Did you delete or keep the GTA V steam folder?

Had a similar issue. Verified files on Steam and it worked flawlessly afterwards.

I never bought the game through steam, I've just installed it from the rockstar social club.

It turns out it was my gamepad that was causing the issue, unplug it and the game loads up fine? Never had the problem with the game previously though.
