Just setup a Flickr account..need help

Is it possible to link to photos held on Flickr directly?

Yep, you can go to "All Sizes" on the picture in question. The "Download the Original Size" link should have a static link to the picture.

i use the code towards the bottom of a flickr page to link to it so the image appears directly in a forum, like this...

The flickr T&Cs state that you have to link back to the image's photo page, though, so keep that in mind.
