Recently got an email from seti asking me to start crunching again. Been a long time since I completed a WU, 1400 days or so :D, and seing as I have a new PC I thought what the hell.

Apparently im still a member of the OcUK team and I think ive been a member of it since I first started crunching way back in February 2001

Just hope I dont get the bug like last time, installed the command line client on one of our customers dual xeon servers as a disguised service. The "techies" couldnt understand why the "System Idle Process" was using 100% of the cpu when the server was unloaded :D

Welcome back to the madhouse! :D

Don't know what you're running SETI on, but I recommend you use an optimised app if you're not already; look here for the appropriate one.

Do you have a CUDA-capable GPU? If so you could run SETI on that as well as on the CPU.

Depending on what system you have, you may or may not want to receive any Astropulse (AP) work units; these take a long time on older systems. There's an option under the S@H preferences within your account if you want to make any changes.

Also, Berkeley are currently having one or two issues regarding sending/receiving work; hopefully this'll be resolved soon enough, but you may have a few problems trying to download/send work at the moment.

Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions :)

Thanks for the suggestion, downloaded and updated to use the optimised and turned off astropulse.

I'm confused now. Should I be folding or Boinc-ing?

I used to run Seti ages ago, but then it stopped, so I started folding for a short while.

I've started Folding, since I managed to get my 8800GT to work, and we also want a new server at work, so I arranged for it to work a little bit harder recently....
