Just started HL2 again . .

I've had HL2 since the day of release but I only got past ravenholm IIRC. I never picked it up cause it made me feel weird. After 3 years, I've now decided to start again as I now own ep1 & 2 from orange box.

Started from the beginning and I've spent just over 2 hours and I've gotten to that part where the dog opens the big concrete passage to ravenholm. I've got to say this game still looks great after 3 years!

However, this is the only game I've ever experienced motion sickness. I've got a killer migraine and my stomach is churning. I don't feel too well

I now know why I stopped playing it. I think I'll just game more casually because I must complete this game once and for all :\

Do a search on google about it and there will be some tips to helping it.
You can tweak the Field of View and stuff like that to cure problems with motion sickness.

Try changing it from default to 90 or something.

yeah the default FOV is 70° IIRC. So it feels slightly 'zoomed in' all the time, as if your eyes were six inches in front of your skull.

Also, when the menu screen is loading and the fuzzy preview of the 3d background appears, move your head back and forth from the screen. Your brain thinks there's a real scene but it's out of focus so your eyes keep focus in and out to compensate. Weird sensation. :cool:

Go into your console and type:

sv_cheats 1

default_fov 90

fov 90

I got it once from HL2 but never again, and I've played a lot of it over the years, twas really annoying when it happened, still haven't finished F.E.A.R. because I get servere motion sickness from even playing 10 minutes.
