Just the one genre

Does anyone reckon they could actually stand listening to their chosen genre for the rest of their life... difficult to answer I supose but I'd give it a go.

without a doubt. (trance)

Alt American rock

Pavement, Grandaddy, The National, Wilco, My Morning Jacket etc.

Fell into this stuff, after starting to lose interest in heavy metal (Pantera, Sepultura, Slayer et al) during my early 20's. Haven't been bored in the alt yank genre for donkeys and am quite happy staying in this groove.

a) Comment out your swear.
b) Don't start on me with hiphop/rap just because you're registered at a hiphop forum and went to a Nas concert when you were 12.

And just because I class Tupac as my favourite rapper and think his lyrics are fantastic, you think that makes me less of a rap fan than you do because you *may* know more about the genre than I do?

You sir, are an idiot.

LOL...im actually one of the senior mods there...

and you do simply not know enough about hip hop

1) DMX is NOT hardcore
2)kanye west is not soft
3)tupac is not a lyrical genius

sorry if i came across rude but i know too many people who think they know hip hop, which consequents them in ultimately ruining the music...thats why your getting all the bubblegum rap right now which has destroyed hip hop

go listen to albums from 1996 and earlier then come back and see if you still say tupac is a lyrical genius, dmx is hardcore and kanye west is soft...oh and listen to the 1997 albums capital punishment and life after death

after 1997 weve only had a few real gems albumwise and you probably have enough hip hop knowledge to know them

AND PLEASE that you sir are an idiot line is PLAYED OUT
