Just trying Chrome properly for the first time...

Yeah that's what I meant. It worked (sort of anyway; it crashed when I closed it).

But this is what I mean about IE generally just working, since everyone designs their sites to work in IE at least. That's not Chrome's fault and I acknowledge that it doesn't mean that IE is better or anything, but it's nice not to have to install loads of stuff just to get a browser working how you want it. Still, I shall persist as I'm quite enjoying the geekery of it all!

Edit - also, the spell checker is very useful for forum posts.

I see what you mean, but I think you have had a bit of bad luck there with that website. I've never come across one that hasn't displayed properly in Chrome.

As for the setting up phase, yeh it's annoying but if you've set up Chrome sync in the options you'll never have to do it again after a format, reinstall etc :) That's why always install chrome on family members PCs n stuff because it'll back up there bookmarks and everything else for them (I know they won't bother!).
