Just updated to windows 8.1, now my GPU is playing up

Mainly performance improvement, dx11.1 has less cpu overhead then DX11 so frame rate is much higher and smoother.

It's not just dx11.1 games either I have also noticed other dx11 Games seems smoother.

So for people with slower CPU'S, there is a benefit but I can't seem to find any other improvements for those of us who have a quicker CPU. I am looking for a reason to make the jump basically and if there are visual improvements, I would but I can't seem to find anything.

I went from Windows 7 to Windows 8 on bf4 and the difference between the two was night and day.
My frame rate used to drop to 50's on Windows 7 on Windows 8 I never drop down below 80 fps

Ahhh ok. I thought from the way you said that people running W7 were missing out, I thought you meant on features.

Kinda makes this wrong then.

Windows 8 added dx11.1 and 11.2 I take it you don't play bf4 because if you did you missing out running Windows 7.

All good though and at least I know I am not missing out on effects :)
 
Windows 8 has a slight performance gain in some games using dx11, but the interface is just awful. Which is why most people just use classic shell to bring back the proper start menu :)

Don't even bother with 8.1 though. There is absolutely no point and it's just adds more problems.

I love my windows 8.1 it took me like 2 days to get used to it but after that I love it ( but it needs some improvements ) . Its better than windows 7 in my opinion .
