Hi again,
I've spent quite a few hours teaching myself about the intricacies of the various components (want to make sure my first build goes right)

I asked for a spec before, and have altered it slightly since, just wanted opinions on it (and also to make sure it will be a decent machine and all parts are compatible with each other)

All suggestions welcomed

Oh and any views on a better case? I think I would prefer one with a window in it but am not sure exactly which case to get that is fairly cheap and still looks good (I looked through quite a few) - I am tempted by the Hiper Anubis / Hiper Osiris.

Well cases are very subjective since everyone has a different taste. If you like the look of Sonata cases you may even get yourself one with a 500W earthwatts PSU and save yourself a few quid. Other than that looks like a solid build (although I'm sure a few people will recommend that you spend a few more quid on a PSU).

if you can afford the extra £15, and you don't upgrade very often, get the retail version of the q6600 as it has the 3 yr warranty compared to the oem's 1 yr.

rest of the build looks fine.

Looks like basically the same PC as mine apart from the CPU, just went for a E8400 instead.
I wasnt expecting it but the case OC sent me had a fan opening on the top of the case, so bought a 80mm noctuna fan afterwards for it. Just a heads up with that, also you can get a new side panel with a window in it for a decent price afterwards if you want it. Lianli cases are great imho so i'd stick with the one you/i have :P
