Stop arguing with yourselfIMO that is part of the problem with AMD not being able to gain any market share, providing high end alternatives to Nvidia they can never do enough so they will always get a bad rep.

No the problem is they are overpriced, Nvidia is overpriced too but has enough market share which also translates to mindshare that they can get away with it to a certain extent though this gen has even seen Nvidia struggle in gaming.IMO that is part of the problem with AMD not being able to gain any market share, providing high end alternatives to Nvidia they can never do enough so they will always get a bad rep.
I wouldn't care if it's red or green, but I do care to have the best performance, features and price.
Yes, Nvidia will have some mindshare, just like Intel has/had. Doing what AMD does is not gonna change that. They're just doing what Vaas said in FC 3 about madness.![]()
Im less bothered about the brand name, but poor gen progression at the low end isn't great and the charging high prices seems to be way out of touch with the scene. Both seem happy to contribute to this paradigm. The issue is AMD is copying Nvidia tactics despite seeing the backlash against them. I honestly don't understand why they are so happy to give Nvidia such leeway, when Nvidia apparently has stopped caring about the consumer market. So Nvidia is trying one with its fanbase, and AMD appears to treat its own fanbase and potential customers with the same distain.
I wouldn't mind giving them a go but like what's already been said, they are lacking in certain areas.. and performance in AI apps. Only choice for those is either stump up to Nvidia or stick with what they have.I gave up on AMD this gen when I seen their power efficiency barely improved, the benchmarks were nowhere near the '50%' slides on release and the obvious pricing we all know about.
Vram sucks though (10gb) which is built in obsolescence.Until you realise a 3080 was 15% faster than a $2500 Titan RTX and went for £650 with a game included.

Let’s all chip in and buy @Joxeon a “free” 4090 so he can stop moaning about everything being overpriced![]()

Stop arguing with yourself![]()

If anything of what RGT mentioned today is true about RDNA4 then I hope intel have not thrown in the towel otherwise Jensen will be upping the price again.
The plan at the minute has been to upgrade my golf clubs rather than waste money on poorly priced GPUs.@Joxeon if the trend continues next gen what is the plan I feel some will give in , or are you gonna look at the used market ?

Next-gen AMD RDNA 4 GPUs reportedly won't compete with Nvidia at the high end
This sounds like bad news, but is it actually?www.pcgamer.com
Next gen is going to be daylight robbery by Nvidia, if true

Surely we should be spending, so we save more right?Start saving people![]()

All the Nvidia fan boys and AMD haters will say that these cards are still overpriced at £700 for XT etc. lmaoBut this is what’s already happening. By design or by default AMD are not competing at the high end and their GPUs are cheaper and generally as good or better in many ways than their direct Nvidia competitor.
What AMD did wrong was still price them too high. Back on release even if some consider these still a bit expensive.
£700 for a 7900 XT
£850 for an XTX
AMD basically got greedy and massively overestimated their mindshare.
AMD have to literally give them away to appease these folks. (Why would they sell these for £500 when a 4060ti 16gb is selling for that?)I can confirm this, I had the 4080 and the XTX and chose to keep the XTXand their GPUs are cheaper and generally as good or better in many ways than their direct Nvidia competitor.
