Op - Shirley you can wait a week or two? I certainly would, if for no other reason than to avoid the ball ache of it all.
 
I’ve called three times this week because I’ve been waiting for something for too long. I don’t give a monkeys about jamming up the phone. I treat my customers equally whether they’re spending £5k or £100k.

I agree with one post here. Don’t say you’re delivering next day when you know you can’t do it.

We narrow down via telephone interviews, etc. but so far still doing final interview in person - will need to check what the rules are with this lockdown but wasn't a problem before.

There isn't a shortage of people applying but actual suitable is another matter and with the social distancing, etc. aspects you really want people that have previous experience and can get up to speed with limited hands on with training, etc.

At the end of the day with the current situation bringing new people into the environment is not ideal but the practical side of that is what it is.

Yes finding applicants isn't a problem, finding someone suitable plus getting them to stay is. Most people have been made out of work recently and they're overqaulified as a rule and as soon as they can find a better job they're off.
