Juventus - what should happen to them?

They should be forced to play in red and white.
That's the funniest thing I’ve read in days, thank :D

Like others I think a 20 point deduction would be a good start. But realistically all that means is they would be very unlikely to win Serie A, or make champions league qualification. See Table below for last years results.

Juventus 91
AC Milan 88
Inter Milan 76
Fiorentina 74
Roma 69

That's a bit soft I think. Two seasons would be more fitting, but I'm leaning towards 4-5 seasons. That would hit them very hard without actually demoting them. It would mean they would loose a lot of key players and would take a significant time to rebuild. It’s a very serious offence so a fitting punishment is necessary to make clubs think more than twice before they try this again.

It goes deeper than you think. One should remind himself the Italians invented the conspiration theory ;)
It is not surprising at all another major scandal has become public in Italy yet again. Their history speaks for itself.

As for punishment I will be surprised if it developes to anything more than some heavy fines. This is the root of the problem. In Italy it is 'ok' and part of the culture to bribe when your interests are at stake.

If the Italian FA only issue fines it will be the death to whats left of fair play in italy. My hopes lie with Prodi who is an avid anti-corruption and football supporter. He could push for a 'proper' clean-up.

Remember the EC two years ago when Italy accused Denmark and Sweden of match fixing?

2-2! hahaha. I must stop writing now as I am getting upset again. NEVER trust an italian.

Surely more than just Juventus are involved, aren't 17-19 games from last season being investigated?

If they are guilty then demotion and stripping of the title seems to be what they've done before.

I'd say demotion to Serie B, stripped of last two titles and thrown out of Europe. If the other teams were also involved on some level then no Italian teams in Europe for the next two/three seasons.

didnt the viola get relegated a few leagues due to financial irregularities?

and there does seem to be a precedent set by lazio and milan for the crime of match fixing/corruption, so i think that demotion, quite rightly, should be considered a definate possibility.
