Hi,
I was looking at the jvc HDD camcorders and was wondering is the GZ77 which has a 2megapixel CCD better than the MG36 which has an 800k one, by that I mean does which one will have better video quality will not really use it for stills or does CCD res only effect still shots

I'm considering the same camera, also thinking about the jvc gz-mc500 which has the triple ccd and has good stills capability. Downshot of that is the more limited micro drive flash storage which is pricey to add to.

Have you made a choice yet?

Don't know anything about the camcorders apart from what I've read here, but...

Assuming that the CCD's of the 800K and 2M are of similar size, the 800K will give a better video picture. The indvidual pixels are bigger and thus less prone to noise.
