just got myself one on the weekend and my bro has been messing around with it and theres 3 little green,blue,red squares in the top near where the lock key symbol is, any ideas how i get rid of it and what it means? theres no diagram at all in the booklet so im stumped

I think it means that a non-standard Profile is activated. Try selecting the General profile, and it should go away. (Profile in terms of ringtones and alert types, etc -> should be under Setting, I think)
