Had one of the brown (actually a nice brushed metallic bronze colour on the face) K800is for a few weeks now. Very impressed. Using the T-Mob Flext 20 with Web & Walk. This gives me £34/mth call allowance and unlimited Internet access - 3G gives you reasonably fast access to the Internet - for just over £20/mth. I regularly download my POP3 email while on the train and the predictive texting feature is really neat and a pleasure to use making it fairly easy to compose emails and SMSs. I've also downloaded Google Maps for mobile onto it and this is awesome if you like maps. Check out the Google Maps for mobile web site for a Java based demo. Camera is okay aswell but you really need the 1Gb card rather than just relying on the internal memory.

Loved my phone and agree with everything VapourTrail has said.

Just a shame mine died after 14 days. Still waiting for a replacement from Vodafone :(.

If you've been waiting for 2 weeks for a replacement, go to www.vodafone.co.uk, then contact us and you can send a direct email to us. If you include FIT135 in the body of the text, it will get routed to a team who monitor the public forums.
If you do this we can have a look to see why it's taking so long, and also if we can get 1 out to you asap.

Yeh I have one at the moment. It's a very nice phone, the camera quality is very nice/useful (although as people said, if you are going to be taking a lot of pictures it's worth getting the 1GB card), nice user interface, all the normal features and more! I definitely recommend getting one. I've had mine since a few days after it was released, and haven't had a problem yet!

Only gripe i have is the stupid design of the camera lens cover. Easily slides open when in your pocket and automatically turns the camera on.

Thanks mate. I wish I had caught this post earlier as I rang through to CS again tonight. The chap I spoke to seemed to say they didn't have any record of receiving my phone, however as it was a straight replacement, said he would put through the order there and then to get a new one sent to me tomorrow.

Wish I had done it sooner!

Here's a related question for you, if you wouldn't mind: Are all the K800s on Vodafone branded with their software, and with the Call/End buttons added in place of the Internet and Shortcut buttons? I'm on Vodafone (albeit through Dial-a-phone, so I'm not actually sure who'd give me my upgrade handset), and the only thing stopping me from renewing with Vodafone is that I'm worried I'll get a modified K800. Problem is though, Vodafone seem to be the cheapest by far for a contract with the K800, and would be cheaper still if I can get an upgrade deal.

Not sure what to do.

The K800i supplied by Vodafone itself are Vodafone branded. I know from personal experience that independent dealers (ie - Phones4U) used to supply unbranded handsets, as most of their phones will be meant to be used on any network (apart from exclusiove phones like Sharp).

Regarding the upgrade, Vodafone or Dial-a-phone would be able to upgrade you, along with any other Vodafone supplier, so it is possible for you to visit a few independent retail stores to see if any offer the unbranded model.

Thanks for the reply mate. Phoned Vodafone on Monday afternoon and they offered me a pretty good deal. Got the branded K800 here right now - it's not as bad as I thought it'd be, to be honest. Might post a mini-review with some pics at some point, because there's a distinct lack of info on the net about the Vodafone K800s.

My K800i arrives tomorrow, unfortunately ive realised you cant put Sony's Pro Duo memory in it. Ugh..

What can my new phone do apart from the basics? I will have a proper play with it soon, but is there anything amazing?

Apart from the 3G stuff, the nice camera, and a few nifty features here and there, it's got nothing particularly revolutionary, but then few phones do these days. I'm very happy with mine though; using my old K750 feels very weird after using the K800.

Mine came today, on Three, and its got annoying adverts on the main menu telling me about the music store etc.. how do i get rid of him.. adverts irritate me.

Done it.. damn instant viewer.. NO I DONT WANT TO CONSTANTLY INSTANTLY VIEW THE ADVERTs..

Its not a bad phone, but its not amazing either.
If you've gone from a previous SE phone, like a K750/W800, prepare to be underwealmed once you've gotten over the the new features that arnt new.

Dont get me wrong, its a nice upgrade from older phones. Higher res screen, better camera, faster GUI, ect; But its not a revolutionary phone by any stretch of the imagination.
