Karaoke on pc?

Karaoke is always a bit of a laugh:p

Big all over the orient. My uncle had a karaoke machine at his house that would ruthlessly score you afterwards as a percentage :D

Is this to spice up a local pub or own personal amusement?

I would have thought any half decent PC microphone would be fine, as the karaoke software would just be playing song flies with lyrics subs and just using whatever you have set your default microphone to be.

It's for fun at home :)

Something that gives some type of score at the end is what I'm after.... Something like singstar but available on the pc for a monthly fee with 10000's songs to choose.

I want wireless mics as well though and both to work at the same time - duets

Anyone clued up on this?

I use a program called karaoke builder player to play tracks from the hard drive. Its got key change and other stuff on it.

If you have an x-fi card like I do you can use it to record yourself, and add echo and other effects. You need a decent mic.

As for a score youll have to score yourself lol

Wireless mics cost quite a lot mate. You need the receiver as well as mics. My dad does karaoke for a living and his quad wireless mic system cost £375. It’s not something that is as easily done as you may think. You really need a usb interface that can take two mics. This will mix the signal and then you can plug the interface into your speakers/amp. If you are dead set on wireless mics, the receiver outputs can be plugged into the interface inputs. Sunfly karaoke do a system with monthly fee that comes with software and access to thousands of songs in their collection.

You could buy the sunfly kbox, but I’m not sure on the quality as it’s so cheap, but it is an easy solution, albeit not wireless.
