Hey.

Have just upgraded to Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 from the previous version and I also had the same problem with that.

I found I couldn't access the internet anymore with it installed. I found out that I needed to uncheck "Operate According To Recommended Settings" when installing and "Enable Real-Time Protection".

So after disabling these, the internet worked for me and I lived happily ever after.

But now upgrading I can't find these settings and so am in stuck.

So any ideas on the fix. Can't personally find on the net.

Im running Kaspersky 6, if you want to know about any settings let me
know what you want to look at and ill post some screenies of how mines set up

Other than that i cant help its been running like a dream for me

Did you ever have internet problems? I'm on NTL 1meg and Kaspersky has always taken my connection out. MSN, Firefox etc... can't gain access. Well nothing can even when its disabled.

Any ideas?

Never had any problem with it

You sure you aint got some spyware on there?

Have you got a firewall on your system, surely Kaspersky wouldnt be stopping
access to the net if its disabled

Nope. As I said above I used to be able to disable some settings and I was away but never quite knew why it then worked.

Whats a good alternative. Had Nod and didn't thinm much of it.

I personally dont think theres anything better than Kaspersky, ive tried NOD
and a few others and nothing compares to it really

I would reinstall it dude and try again, dont mess with the settings or anything

You havent by any chance got wuamkop.exe running in your processes have you?

I ask because when i had problems getting on line before it was that worm that
was on my system, just have a check because i dont think its Kaspersky thats
causing the problem

Yeah loads better and its free for a month and then some features are disabled
but it still runs as a good enough firewall :)

Just a question, but have you uninstalled the old version first, and do you have any other AV package installed?

I only ask as having 2 AV packages installed for some reason can lock the network connection out
