Keane & Vieira Best Of Enemies

I watched it last night and thought it was very good....what's up with Keane though, a team with no Scholes or Giggs in it?! Bitter much?

Can't remember who was in his midfield - was it Becks, Keane, Ince, Ronaldo?

To be fair to him, it's hard to argue against any of them. Scholes and Giggs were incredible players, but Becks was up there with Giggs (although I'd probably choose Giggs over him). Obviously he's going to be in his own team, so it's between Scholes and Ince - Ince is much more a Roy Keane type of player, and was fantastic in his day!

I watched this last night, very enjoyable..Don't think I've ever seen Keane smile/laugh.

Keane was right when he said there were no battles anymore, everyone is soft in today's game, it's pretty sad to see that everything is about technical ability over everything now.

I found it amusing when Vieira was on about Pires being in the team and Keane just muttered under his breath "jesus christ, Patrick" :D

I found the team selection thing a bit depressing because it felt like they should have been able to build a better team. I think the problem was perhaps too much choice in some positions and not enough in others.... I mean the fact Lauren gets picked but Bergkamp doesn't is a bit depressing.

The Arsenal team was fairly predictable, personally I thought Fabregas would give better balance than Petit but I suppose he left before Cesc really hit his pomp. Only other issues really would be whether you'd take Dixon over Lauren, or Overmars over Ljungberg.

edit: Stuff it, here's my "Rejects" XI:

------------------Seaman
Neville----Ferdinand----Campbell---Cole
Beckham---Fabregas---Scholes---Giggs
--------Van Nistelrooy--Bergkamp

(Cesc and Scholes in the centre looks a bit vulnerable to say the least, but I'm stymied somewhat by both Keane and Vieira themselves being unavailable)

The programme was brilliant, two legends holding court and neither giving an inch... fantastic.

I love this image, it's like the football version of the conversation scene in Heat. Gonna make a poster of it here as reminder of one of my fav footballing periods.

Henry and Ronaldo have to be in there, two of the greatest players to grace the Prem let alone those two sides.

That's the problem with these things though, they were both 2 unbelievable teams, very difficult to choose between them all.
