Keep hard drive?

Hi guys, my mate has just bought a new sandybridge system and he wants to know if he can put his old hard drive into his new computer?

Is it IDE or SATA? is there a IDE port on the motherboard? is it a crap old slow drive?

Lol sorry mate, it is SATA, yeah it is only an 80gig one, not sure on the make.

He can use it, but It might be slow and horrid, making the pc sluggish.

Yeh he has a new 500gb HDD to put in it, but he has a really slow net connection and he doesn't want to download all his stuff again.
