Keep Kraken Pump on 'Performance' mode without NZXT CAM software?

Just heard back from NZXT, apparently the Kraken is supposed to stay in whatever mode you last set it to even if you uninstall CAM. But I can't actually see anyway of testing this, because after setting it to Performance mode and uninstalling CAM I have no way of seeing what mode it's in anymore, and it doesn't report its rpm to the motherboard via its 2pin connector. And whenever I reinstall CAM it just shows everything back in Silent mode.

Haha yeah it's pretty frustrating to be honest. NZXT have assured me though that it keeps its last known settings so in theory I can run CAM, set the Kraken up and then just set CAM to not start when Windows Boots.

I will set up a test though soon to differentiate between the Krakens settings.

Agreed, funnily enough I was involved in another thread about 6 months ago where I said I considered CAM "Rapidly becoming bloatware" and got shouted down by a few people.
Interesting others are starting to see what I saw.

Problem I think is NZXT has got a team in to do the software, The software developers and NZXT "Ideas" don't match, I was always told it was going to be a light weight simple but powerful tool for pc control, now suddenly it does A on screen UI and FPS averages etc.

I am not interested in fluff, I can get one of 20 programs to do that, that already exists, but I am guessing the software people want to be seen "Giving more" rather than fix every little bug.

I really wish the Krakens pump just ran off of a fan header on the motherboard.

So far I've opened CAM to set the pump how I want it, then I've closed CAM and set it to not start with Windows and I'm hoping it's remembering its last know settings (like NZXT support said it would).

I was told that ASUS Aura would mess up CAM too so I've delayed AURA's startup service to let CAM start first which seemed to work for a few reboots then BAM! CAM randomly forgets Kraken again.

Maybe I'll disable ASUS AI Suite at startup and see if that's something to do with it.

I'm not very happy about having to disable all my motherboard utilities though just to keep CAM happy.
