If your car is repaired by your insurance company, are you allowed to keep the damaged parts they replace? Reason being is that my car was supposed to be ready a long time ago (long story) but now they are saying that they want to replace all the wheels and tyres. I have no idea why because I only hit the front nearside wheel and there is nothing wrong with the (nearly new) tyres on the other wheels, so I would like to keep them if possible when they get replaced.

However, there's nothing stopping you trying to strike a deal with the repairer. You might get lucky. On the other hand you might get told where to go.

Insurance co's normally sell the very lightly damaged parts on so its worth speaking to them.
My Dad made quite a decent business out of buying bits cheap from bodyshops,touching them up and selling them on, the one year his t/o was about 50k, and most of that was profit
It was anice little earner for a few years.
