Keeping the lawn tidy when it's constantly wet?

I use the hose pipe as can cover a much larger area.
 
Well I think I may have gotten "lucky" the first time I used the hose method as it worked a treat and then when I tried again it was rubbish. Turns out that it worked so well the first time as the hosepipe was full of water as I must have forgotten to turn it off which meant the weight of it got rid of all the water on the grass virtually. I now make sure I fill the hose up before doing it for the extra weight it offers.

Surely your hose is always full of water unless its brand new:confused:.

I always turn the tap off and let the hose drain out when I reel it in. Could be argued a waste of water but then its not sitting full of water and wont freeze in the cold I guess.
 
Just wait till its dry. At this time of the year its not growing so much so there ought to be a dry day sooner or later. Two weeks in the summer at this time of year, 3. If its long you must have left it a long time.
 
2 weeks in the summer? My grass would be above my ankles! I have to cut it twice a week in the summer, especially if there has been some rain amongst the sunshine.
