I wish I had the time to care about stuff like this, let alone post on a forum. Fair play to you. I would just eat them, they won't kill you.
point is they used to taste good 25 years ago, but the lower calorie recipe (cloying glucose syrup - fructose ? - junkflation cheap ingredients) messed them up ?
can't beat a bit of decent sugar cane, from the empire, or beet.
( it's like real maple syrup, sweet stuff - but doesn't taste like it )
