Hi

I've had an error on a blue screen saying unexpected kernel mode trap, ive turned PC on and off and it won't come back on..
Any idea what component gone wrong?

It can be difficult to correctly diagnose problems so as a general tip always give as much information as you can about what has happened, what's changed, and what errors you see. Always think of this like an "explain like I'm five" kind of question. A lot of these troubleshooting questions run afoul of either the poster or a troubleshooter making an assumption about a step that has been taken or not taken.

If the computer won't turn back on after a problem / blue screen error it might be that the power supply has activated some form of protection to prevent a more serious problem from happening. What you should do is unplug the power cable from the back of the PC and leave it out for at least 30 minutes. After that, plug it in again but before pressing the power button (often when you first plug the power cable in and before you turn the PC on some lights will illuminate on the motherboard) see if you get any leds illuminating. Don't worry if you don't, but this can be an indication that at least the motherboard is getting power. Press the power button and check to see if anything changes even if the PC doesn't power up or the fans don't come on.

It is often helpful to let the troubleshooters on here to know what hardware you have. If you have those details then list them all ie PSU model / make, motherboard, cpu, ram, gpu, etc. How old is the pc, did you build it yourself, etc.

For a kernel mode trap, have any updates been applied recently? Any driver updates? BIOS updates? Any new hardware? Did anything else happen that was unexpected the last time the computer was working before this happened? Is the heatsink / cooler OK? Temperatures, if you can get it to post are the voltages all OK?

Cheers.

ETA - sometimes the power supply comes with a small plastic fitting that looks like the motherboard 20/24 pin ATX connector which simulates powering on the PC but only shows if the power supply is giving power and makes the fan spin up. If you have this try it out after leaving the PC unplugged for 30 mins but before you try powering on the PC again.
