Hey Guys,

I'm really struggling to stay on Keto due to eating the same stuff over and over again, lack of bread and pasta is particularly difficult for me at the moment and some of the alternatives I've tried just really don't do it for me. I'm not a fan of stuff made with the nut flours. One of my biggest issues in particular is breakfast, I never thought I'd say it but I'm getting sick of bacon and eggs.

Part of the problem is I'm really fussy with veggies and the ones I prefer tend to be carby ones which of course I can't really have on Keto.

Can you guys recommend any recipes in particular, suggest some decent alternatives for breakfast etc in particular?

Any help would be really appreciated.

Not so much for breakfast but ground flaxseed wraps.
Great with chicken, lettuce and drizzle of mayo in.

Tin of corned beef, i love the stuff and can eat it any time of day.

If your making meals with almond flour then add vanilla extract to hide the almond flavour.
Look for keto cheescake, real easy to make and nice n tasty. - Cheescake for breakfast = win:D

I know these are strange breakfasts, but who said breakfast had to be boring.

I've lost over 50lb so it works for me:D

I have a feeling that any suggestions will get shot down due to your fussiness with veg, meaning a waste of time.

But do list all the veg you won’t eat so at least we can avoid them first. Be as comprehensive as humanly possible.

If I was to list all the veg I won't eat we'd be here for a while. The problem is a lot of veg makes me feel physically sick, I don't mean like a kid might bork at something I mean certain veg actually makes me vomit, just doesn't sit right on my stomach.

Mushrooms, Peppers, Tomato's, Carrots, Lettuce (not iceberg) Onions, Kale in small amounts, peas, sweetcorn, parsnips I suppose are the main ones that I eat currently.

Ground Flaxseed wraps are not something I'd ever considered, not even thought about corned beef it's been years since I had the stuff. I absolutely adore Spam and quite happily eat a can of that a day fried in butter with some black pepper Mmmmmmmm.

I lost over 5 stone before before the pandemic started and put my type 2 diabetes into remision. Having to shield and some laziness on my part that weight and diabetes have returned and so I want to get back on with things.
As I said above I'm just struggling to get started on it through lack of variety, having mobility issues also means I have to rely on my missus to cook for me and while some things she does are amazing I get really ******* sick of eating the same stuff.

I wonder if it’s a mental thing and if I cook something and sneak some veg in and never told you and whether you would physically feel sick from it. One is mental, one is allergy.

Believe me I'd know, I've had several people over the years try to sneak veg in to meals in some weird and wonderful ways without my knowing and I've had the same physical reaction regardless. The worst offender being Cauliflower, the stuff hits my stomach and then can make me quite ill with a similar reaction to food poisoning though not as long lasting.

Can try get a bit inventive with the veg. Something like cauliflower rice or ribbons of courgette as a pasta substitute. The current favourite of my house is some purple sprouting broccoli cooked in a frying pan with a bit of butter,

smoked salmon omelettes are good I find.

I've used DietDoctor in the past for meal ideas.

Although I'm currently no longer on Keto as I'm ok with my weight and my other half won't keep at it with me.

As above that's stuff I just cannot eat

This is what I tried to say in the first reply, unless we know the list of things you won't eat, you will just come back with "I just can't eat it".

Hence, waste of time, so we need you to help us in order for us to help you or the entire thread will be just

You need to give in a bit, there seem to be zero compromise on your part so how can anyone help? Being on Keto is hard enough in terms of selection, add to your picky eating you are just going to have like 2 things. I mean I could suggest some kind of Chinese or Japanese style breaklfastt like cold grilled Salmon with Miso Soup and some seaweed...but I can see you are just going "Nope!"

Not particularly helpful pal and I do my best

I suspect he was trying to be helpful by suggesting you see a specialist for health reasons, having that many foods that make you physically ill doesn't sound particularly normal, if that is the case. I don't know if you've ever seen a doctor/nutritionist about this fact, but may be worth getting checked out incase there is something more sinister at play? Just a suggestion :)
