Afternoon

Finished work and went to unlock my car and...it didnt. The lock button and the unlock boot button worked but not the unlock button so i had to open the car manually.

central lock and unlock still works inside the car and i have just got home and tested my second key which works absolutely fine so all things point to a faulty key.

Is this a symptom of the battery going/dying in the key?

What kind if car? Sometimes the buttons can break in the key if you are unlucky, mini keys do this and can be repaired with superglue.

Octavia VRS (2006)

I will just buy a battery and see if that works first i guess.

Should be the same as my key fob on the VW Golf GTi (2005). Similar event, one day just decided it was not going to open the car. A quick search on Youtube showed how to get into the fob, replace the CR2032 and all was well again. No coding needed.

Yeah look it up before you change the battery. I changed the battery on my ZS fob while I was at work once, I went to start the car and the immobiliser just beeped at me and wouldnt start the car.

I couldn't get back in to work so I had to sit there with slow mobile internet trying to find the secret way to link the fob to the car :p
