Keyboard Hardware Macro's

Hey All,

I was wondering if anyone happens to know of any keyboards that support hardware macro's at least I think that's what they are called.

I am looking for a keyboard that does not require any software running/installed in order to run macros at a key press. I don't mind if it initially needs to be plugged into a Windows PC in order to install some software to record and store the macro's on the keyboards memory but when it comes to running them I need them to run without having the need to be plugged into a PC.

Its either this or is there such a thing as I can by a box that plugs into the keyboard that would enable me to record keystrokes and them play them back at will obviously without the use of a PC?

Any help would be great.

Coolermaster Quickfire Rapid with the Frosty Flake controller.

Cheers for the reply, I found the place to buy this but for the life of me I cannot find out exactly what these controllers do or how to do it? I don't suppose you have any more information ?

contact the guy on Geekhack and he will sort you out, its the pegasus hoof for the filco.

the assembled frosty cost me £22.

Easy AVR USB Keyboard Firmware and Keymapper. you sort the macro out through this software and it writes it to the controllers memory.

Can you programme media keys into the controller?

If not, what is the primary purpose of replacing the controller?

im not sure about media keys, i will check later.

main purpose it to give a non macro keyboard macro ability

i bought mine merely because my keyboard stopped working and i hoped it was the controller that was faulty, which turned out to be the case.
