4 year old i5 m540 @2.53 laptop SP 1 windows 7 good graphics card for the time by pcspecialists has been fine. Gave it to my son as ive upgraded and keyboard has gone squerly. Very dissapointing as he was very excited to get it.
Sometimes on start-up it works fine but far more often than not it doesn't work at all or works wierdy to say the least. The left half can be OK but from RFv going down the keyboard the keys either won't work or type random letters or sets of letter that change every time you hit the key.
Ive done a system restore going back months and re-updated it. Ive used sleep rather than shutdown when its turned on and been fine and this makes no difference.
Is this software in which case what do I do or is it hardware in which case I assume its basically trashed due to age and what it would cost to fix.
