I'm basically looking for a keyboard to replace my Razer tarantula, as I cannot do coursework in university with a keyboard that has US layout... I'll be doing lots of typing so It has to go. I will also be gaming quite a bit in my past times, so Its kinda difficult to get a perfect keyboard.

Anyways, what I'm looking for really is a keyboard that fills most, or even better, all of my preferences I have listed below..
-Full UK layout with big Enter key (I need this the most)
-Regular/Big keys.. don't like keyboards with lots of macro keys on the side, so they have to sacrifice size of the keys on the keyboard. So I would prefer one without any macro keys on the sides at all
-Not loud (the quiter, the better)
-very tiny delay/input lag
-allows me to press tab+shift+w+d/a+another extra key all at the same time..

The only 2 keyboards of choice for me atm are either Razer arctosa or Microsoft Reclusa..
Arctosa is a bit noisy, but it fills everything else..
Reclusa, I'm not too sure of, as I've only read reviews about it.. but Its apparently, quiet (except for space bar), responsive etc. It basically puts a tick on all the things I've listed except for the last part.

The OCZ Alchemy 2 might work, but the enter key isn't that big... other than that look for cheaper one's, like the Logitech Classic 200. I like the Microsoft Comfort Curve 2000, but it's personal preference.

does anyone have any pic of the OCZ Alchemy 2 in UK layout? I can't find any :(
It does look like the sort of keyboard I am looking for though, and I do prefer slim keys (like laptop's).

Edit: that is quite a mojor flaw with the enter key for me based on the reviews of the product here in OCUK...
I would have bought it straight away If It did have a Full UK layout with big enter key :(

In that case, why not the Alchemy I? Sorry for the humongous image by the way...

Or indeed the OCZ Alchemy Series Illuminati which looks good.

That does look like a nice keyboard.. but are the keys a bit smaller than usual as there are macro keys on the sides?

Don't think so, i think it's longer than usual to fit them on. But either that or:

would work fine with prolonged typing. You could always try voice recognition, but you know...

I use the Saitek Eclipse, they added some extra media buttons in the Eclipse II, but the original is likely to be more to your taste.

I have no complaints at all about mine, brilliant gaming keyboard.

hmm that keyboard looks plain lol

imo my vote is with the G15 I ve got the blue, only thing is I can't see the A key as the paint were off o.O but tough keybard, not too sure about the red version yet I might get one, one day

Looks exactly like what I had in mind of buying (without the wrist wrest).. but I would prefer one with no wrist wrest as I find them very uncomfortable..
I like added small multi media keys :)

The Saitek Eclipse II may be to your taste then, the wrist wrest is optional and it has media keys above the numpad for volume control, play/pause and skip tracks.

Well the Alchemy I is probably your best bet at that price. Unless you wanted an ergonomic design. They're like Marmite, you either love it or you hate it and you never know until you've used one. I love it personally, but i don't like the one's that split in the middle. This is the Microsoft Comfort Curve 2000:

Not the best enter key for you, might want to look at the 4000 but i like this one. Really comfortable, low profile keys (height wise, not width) and lovely curve.

Yes, I do like the Saitek Eclipse II's looks a lot..
but how is it for typing and gaming though?
anyone here have Saitek II? can someone tell me if it would allow you to press shift + capslock (my talk key in ventrilo) + w + a + space all at the same time?

just had to laugh at that.. hahaa :D
I could never use such a thing.. lol
I'm pretty used to touch typing on a regular keyboard.. used to touchtype on an ancient Compaq keyboard.. I don't think I'd ever consider any keyboard with all sorts of curve everywhere tbh.. I've tried some of them. It just felt really really awkward..

Can't say as I only have the original, but it is a brilliant keyboard for gaming and typing.
And it's heavy enough to definitely incapacitate any burglars, and I reckon it would carry on working afterwards too.

These are important considerations when purchasing a keyboard, I feel.

I would also consider the original Saitek.. more fussed about functionality than looks tbh... I have Iiyama E2403WS + Dell 2407WFP myself, that just tells you how I'm more into functionality than looks :p lol
I use my E2403WS for gaming and general work and Dell 2407WFP for movies and for more work space.. so they both serve their own purpose ;)
can you press capslock+shift+w+a+space all at the same time with the original saitek eclipse?

think thats because Its US layout.. lol
and I would have to say no to the keyboard you suggested Superewza.. It seems to be missing the numpad keys :p lol
I would also consider the original alchemy.. I still would prefer the Saitek Eclipse I/II though.. they seem to look quite comfy with their flat (laptop like) big keys.. I like the idea a lot :)
All I need to know now really if it can do what I do all the time in CSS with my Razer tarantula (shift+capslock+w+a+space and + preferably 1 more extra key)
