Hey all, I have an annoying problem with my PC.

When I turn my computer on I have to wait about 10 seconds before I put my password in because the keyboard doesn't work. After 10 seconds something kicks into life and I can type.

Wondering if anyone has seen this kind of issue before? I know it sounds trivial but when PC's take seconds to boot up these days it's a long time!!!

I reinstalled Windows recently due to a new SSD and the issue persists. I have also tried different USB ports.....

I had this problem when I flashed my bios, it was in usb 3.0 I moved it into usb 2.0 and all is good, but like you say if you have tried different ports then apart from drivers/bios settings im out of ideas

Make sure you have got the latest drivers for your USB ports.

As Nick said above, try plugging it to USB 2.0 ports. I've noticed similar issues when plugged in USB 3.0 ports.

could be as others have said if it's in a usb3 port, I know my keyboard [and mouse] won't work when in safe mode because the usb3 doesn't start. although how they work in the bios is anyone's guess.
