Khan v Barrera!?

Pathetic! I was prepared to give him a chance but he obviously hasn't learnt a thing. He's just booked himself a one way ticket to retirement and he's going to get the beating of his life on the way.

Interesting, i'm no expert but I'd imagine Kahn would really need to win this fight to convince any of the millions of doubters, after his shocking defeat.

Will certainly be interesting.

I thought the same, perhaps the promoter is doing it on purpose simply to get Sky box office a full house on the night, all full of people laughing at Kahn getting gibbed. Because once that happens they can maybe get shot of him altogether and try to find somebody else?

Barrera probably hasn't got the power to KO him as easily as Prescott did but he'll wear him down and completely **** him up. Wouldn't be surprised if it ended in a messy one-sided TKO.

This will be the most exciting boxing match in a long time!

Just because nothing is better than watching Khan get a beating, especially one as bad as what is coming to him.

A bit of a shock that match up. For me it's going to be worth watching just like I did with Hamed in the hope he gets slaughtered and retired.

They must have some inside info that Barrera is completely washed out to take this fight so soon after his loss.

this is going to be an awesome fight :D. If khan can pull a win for himself, i will change from a doubter of his boxing abilities.

Barrera is 34 now though right? WIll be interesting to see if this will be a smart gamble or a horrible upset (on khan's part)

That's what I'm thinking, why on earth would they take this fight otherwise. It's also just come out the blue.

So Barrera is moving up to lightweight, and Khan is naturally a big lightweight as it is. Barrera is 5 ft 6 and Khan is 5 ft 10. Should be interesting.

Why is everyone shocked at the matchup it is no matchup really.
Barrera is moving up 2 division to lightweight. He has just came out of retirement in which he thought some nobody and won. He hasn't looked good for atleast 18 months, losing by a country mile to Pacman and marguez before he retired and then 8 months later announced he was coming back.
It is a complete miss match and one that i think if Kahn is as good as people say, Kahn should win this fight with ease. People forget Kahn is a big lightweight and will eventually mature into a welterweight, whereas Barrera in a natural flywieght and thought at 126 most of his carreer. Most you just see the name Marc Antonio Barrera and instantly think it is the Barrera of old, back in the day when he dominate the featherweight division, beating the likes of Eric Morales and a young pacquio and a naseem hamed.
Do you really think Warren would throw Kahn in with someone he thought he'd have no chance with, come on peeps, anyone who knows boxing knows Frank Warren is a business man he isn't going to take another huge risk on kahn again so early after the prescott loss, he knows Barrera is way out of his depth.
It is a good fight to watch though because of the legacy Barrera brings to the table the man will go down a legend but that doesn't mean this is a close fight or a fight that kahn will lose, anything other than a convincing win here.

I like Amir and wish him well but he is going up against one of the most murderous pound for pound body punchers there has been.

Barrera for the win although I hope I'm wrong.

TO be honest it could be anywhere inbetween both extreme's, he could get battered easily, or beat a out of shape Barrera whose not going to be near his best.

It could be seen by either side as a final chance at a pay day. Barrera, biggest fight he could get for a little extra retirement money and is so desparate that he'll fight anyone. Likewise, he could be the only "big name" who would remotely bother fighting Khan, frankly any real current great boxer will see Khan as nothing but a small time fighter, at least for the moment. So if they think Khan will never win anything significant and never match to a champion, this could be the biggest payday they have left also.

But the problem is, Khan's all show, no skill, no talent, speed but no power, very fast small punches in crap combo's, but lacking any real technique or ability to penetrate a real defence, can't take a punch either. A previously top boxer shouldn't really have any trouble pounding a poor boxer tbh. De La Hoya was older, in worse shape and was fighting a true champion.

Its hard to see Barrera being anywhere near his best, but even so, that doesn't mean he can't take Khan. Interesting match up though.

interesting match up. they wouldnt be taking it on if they didnt think it would be really worth while.
