Today I saw with my very own eyes a Kia Carens, CRD.

05 Plate.

Silver.

Reasonable condition.

...with me so far? Good - ok then, right here comes the WTF bit......

It had done 303,000 miles.

Here's my question - just exactly what sort of voodoo makes a car that nasty go for that long?

Perhaps Jesus is in fact alive and well and working as a Kia Engineer?

I'm getting about 6500/month on my estimations, 216miles a day inc weekends

A very, very long commute? Possible...? 295miles per day not inc weekends....

What are you talking about now?

Anyway, I rather suspect this car did Airport transfers.

The op was saying why would anyone want to drive such a horrible car. I was saying it isn't that bad.

Is this yet another gem from somebody who has not yet driven a car on a public road? How could you know it wasn't that bad? How can you even have a yardstick for whats bad and what isnt when you don't drive?

It took someone with the patience of the Messiah himself to stick that thing for over 300k. We have had the second coming and missed it. You heard it here first folks, Jesus drives a Kia.

Because I've been a passenger in Kias, and other similar cheap modern cars, and there really not much worse than most other modern cars, albeit a bit more plasticy perhaps. I think it's pretty snobby to suggest that it's really that bad, it's a darn site better than a lot of peoples cars.

I'm giving my opinion, you don't have to agree with me.

No but we can still call you an miss informed, naive and ignorant with anything to do with cars, and with that you hold less water then a seive.

You can if you want. I never claimed that my opinion held more water than anyone else. There's no need to be so pretentious.
