Just dropped my daughter off at uni today. What a wierd feeling - saying goodbye to the young adult which you watched being born 18 years ago. No wonder the mrs blubbed a little (and I even had a little dust in my eye too),

OK - she'll be back in 10 weeks, and at least it's easy to keep in touch nowadays

Still a bit sad though :(
 
OP that is such a good story. I really can't pick the part that I liked the best. But if you were to hold a gun to my head, I would go with the part where you posted a picture. I just got off the phone with an armored truck company. They will be arriving in the morning to pick up my back up disk, which I just saved your picture and story on to. There probably won't be much traffic, because I forwarded the police your story, and they agreed to escort the armored truck to its destination. At first the police chief didn't want to help, but then I guided his attention to the incredible picture that you embedded along with your story. I mean, the story was good enough. But as soon as I saw the picture of your daughter that went along with it, I called my grandmother, who is blind and has Alzheimer’s disease to tell her. As far as her doctors in the nursing home are concerned, she is cured of all her ailments now that she heard your story. She is actually preparing to run the London marathon next year now. Thank you OP.

I was trying to avoid mentioning the gratuitous casual sex she will no doubt engage in over Fresher's Week as this would likely present negative mental pictures to the clearly proud father.

I have a few friends who just starred uni last few weeks. All you see on her Facebook page are

1 - pics of her getting ready to go out, the phone shot in the mirror photo
2 - pics of her in a club with a lot of blokes
3 - status updates such as "had the craziesssssssssst night ever!"
4 - followed by being tagged in a photo titled "Walk of shame", strangely enough by her best friend who is a girl and in the subsequent comments - "Top Rub!" :eek: ;)
5 - "it's 4:30 in the afternoon and I just got back to my room!"
6 - more status updates "not been sober since I got here 2 weeks ago! Bring on tonight!"

So good luck OP :p

Selekt0r just don't think about it... or what she might be up to, just wait for her to need you which will be about 3 weeks after freshers and lectures start properly.

Then just laugh at her when she's crying on the phone saying she's got no money, lost her room key, lost her purse and cards a week a go, ending up throwing up all over her favourite dress while doing a Centurion and needing new bedding after cutting up the sheets and using them as a toga.
