It originated from some viral video of a comedian dancing to Drake's song "In my feelings" about a girl named Kiki, it was then widely copied online as the "kiki challenge" by the sort of people who also perhaps indulged in other such fun activities like: neknominate, throwing buckets of ice over their heads and eating tide pods...

There have since been apparent "parodies" to a different song: baby shark, as seen by the grot bags lookalike posted above.
