Kill Brambles

Other than killing with fire and nuking from orbit, what is the best product for getting rid of brambles/blackberry bushes?

Have tried boxing stance but that just gets me weird looks from the neighbours and I am not going to pooh through my own letterbox. ....

Sounds great....can u get that in B&Q or Homebase? Want them to die this weekend after them laughing at me for the spray I used last week

No it's 'professional use only' so unless you have a specialist nearby I doubt you'd get hold of it without buying online...

Even this stuff takes a week or so to kick in. I wasted my time trying Round-up or something whatever it is in B&Q but for heavy foliage this Rosate is the daddy

Do you have a decent sprayer you can use?

Oh and do use it with caution though, even where my sprayer has just literally dripped on the lawn there are 3" diameter patches of dead grass...

Keep animals out of the way and be mindful of the spray going awry

Did order a 5l sprayer too so covered on that point. We have no animals in the house so sorted there....not sure about local cats though.....tbh not that worried about the lawn/grass as the garden is in an awful state....it really needs ripping up and starting again, but isn't mine to do that to so will just kill off the brambles

Cool beans... show us some before and afters!

Try to spray them when there's little chance of rain. Also, not sure if it helped any but I gave some of the hardier victims a few doses a day or two apart... I was surprised at how much killing the ferns took!

Will do.....altough not sure on the less chance of rain.....especially down here. May chop off some of the new growth over this weekend so that they uptake the killer fully

I think the instructions mention something about applying it when the weeds are in a growth stage or something... I guess that means when it's warm and there's been some water around... I dunno.

Sounds good this stuff. Neutralised on contact with soil presumably means you can overseed / plant something else pretty soon afterwards.

Yeah once everything had wilted in one area I dug the soil over and sprinkled a load of seeds. A few weeks later and they're all sprouting nicely now.

Cracking good stuff that, I have killed tree stubs with it and some large bush thing that refused to die.
