Kill coil?

thanks guys ill decide where to put it once ive got my stuff :)
also, does anyone know if an NZXT sleeved LED kit will fit under my motherboard as a backlight?

Ok, Well I got my loop set up. But I completely forgot to put the kill coil in the tubing....fail.

So I really cba to empty it and fill it and bleed it again.

I was thinking if I cut a small bit of tubing. Put the kill coil inside it, then drop the tubing into the res. Would this be safe? Hopefully the tube will stop the coil from going near the pump.

Well I don't want to put it in on its own:

I think it would easily ending up going into the hole for the pump. At least with a bit of tubing it wouldn't be able to. If I make the tube bigger than the gap above the pump inlet it should be fine?

Can you move the res so its at the highest point in the loop, if it isn't already. Then undo the fill port make the coil as big as it can be before it wont fit so it wont go into the inlet/outlet and drop in the kill coil?

Hmmm, I'm not sure the exact size as I bought it 2nd hand.

The res is at the bottom of the case, the fill port can still be opened fine with it at the bottom. I'll see how big I can make the coil

I've got the same dilemna - kill coil arrived today and I just cba flushing the system to stick the kill coil into a tube.

Looks like there will be a problem with the coil if we just drop it into the res (I have the same pump and res) :(

Hmmm. It is a tricky 1. I was intending of putting it in tubing, but I forgot...

I've tried making it as big as possible, but still one of the ends could easily dip down into the pump. Thats why I had the idea of cutting like an inch of tubing and putting it inside it, so the tips of the coil can't go into the pump.

tis a good idea in theory dude - hmmmm, might give it a shot later tonight - let us know how you get on, ta.

Ok, had a better idea. I've just bent my coil into a big ring and so the edges overlap. Now it is too big to big down the pump inlet, and no edges of the coil can dip down into it!

good thinking batman! :D

From what I've noticed - the res almost perfectly directs the water straight into the pump mechanism, as long as it just stays somewhere in the res (without swirling round) it should be ok....

Currently at work so will try it later tonight.;)

Ok, made mine a circle just small enough to fit inside the fill hole. Currently sitting at bottom of res and not even moving. So the pump doesn't swirl it around. Gna shake it abit and see what happens, lol.

Make sure you do a switch off and back on again as thats when its most likely to move ;)

Seems like it's not moving too much, but even if it did go over pump inlet, it couldn't go down it.

A bit off topic here, but does your pump make a sound when turning off?

When mine goes off and stops spinning, it makes a squishy noise. Don't know if its coming from the pump or 1 of the hoses etc.

Going to put my dye in soon! Need to wire up the PC.
