Killing Floor - Steam FREE Weekend (Thursday - Sunday) - Dedicated Servers = WIN

id love to purchase the game but I read on their forums that the game only usually gets less than 1000 players playing.... its only since this free weekend that we now have a lot of servers full, hope thats not the case as id love this to be a game that lasts a bit.

I've never had any problems finding a decent server on the random times I've played it since release, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Just had a look at the steam stats for today its been around 15,000 at one time, up there with L4D and TF2 (only things more are CS & CSS) no wonder there is a lack of servers if the game currently got a 1500% increase in players

is there a way to quickly start a dedi server without having to go into the game launch the server, go back into the game and join?

Didn't know they made this game even better. Love the new guns and shop, although it seems to take me twice as long to buy stuff! Rocket launcher zombies are a good addition too. Third time this game has hooked me now. Beats the socks off L4D.

If you get a good server with around 20 players on you can have some really funny and quite tactical games as the enemy count is around 800 per wave lol. Was on one of the new maps earlier with 32 players and we got slaughtered by wave 7 every time because people ran off and got picked off by spawning zombies/gorefests etc then not enough people in bottleneck positions with decent guns to kill the hordes of enemies swamping in through the doorways lol.

Its a really good game though and the subtle changes to some of the perks is a nice addition (9mm on sharpshooter etc)

As my trial time dwindles im not sure whether to commit or not to the game..... I want too, but have this horrible feeling that ill be playing in 30 man servers with just 3 other players as its popularity sinks after the trial + with that Left 4 Dead game coming out :(

I don't think you'll find it completely dead, but the popularity will definitely go down somewhat yeah.

However, it's not exactly the most expensive game around and is fun to pick up now and again :)

Yeah its a great game imo

Not played anything as atmospheric for ages - plus wasting zombies is fun, no matter what!

In a good server (like the OCUK one) its quality, like the Alamo or Zulu sometimes.... 4 or 5 of you backed up in a room/against a wall with wave upon wave of them charging you :D

i liked it so much i bought it on the saturday :D it was probably a little too popular this weekend as it was hard to find a game that wasn't full or if i join an empty game it fills up straight away or says its full and i can't join, and if i started a dedi server it fills up before i get chance to join :D it is a great game though especially with the added maps/weapons and i might put off getting L4D2 for a while as ill be playing this instead, maybe i won't get it at all

Thats been the problem with the trail it bloody hard to find a game right now all the servers are full

Also what is the difference between the gold and red symbol above peoples head ?

I don't think I'll be buying, not so close to L4D2. Had fun though.
The... voice... overs... are... so... bad... they... are... almost... awesome.
I love it, the whole game feels a bit cheese.

"I'm trying to heal you not shag you!"
I could listen to that on a loop.
