It's just that they can prove it kills absolutely every single germ present on a surface, so they get as close to it as they can.
 
A germ free environment is a recipe for disaster. It's no good people always using loads and loads of cleaning products, especially with children around. It will inhibit the development of their immune system.

Not all germs are pathogenic, many manufacturers of household decontamination products are selling based on fear caused by poor education & understanding. Creating almost sterile environments for humans to develop in is almost as bad as some of the disease infested surroundings we existed in a few hundred years ago.
