Killzone 3 Open Beta Stars Feb 3rd

I wish this was on pc am getting owned left right and center last time I played a fps on a gamepad was halo 1.
Loving the knife kills.

Quite a few people say the controls are sluggish, i'm quite the opposite, i use the battle cross adapter with 360 pad and if anything, i find the sensitivity a bit too high. Default at 30% too. Might be the dead zones of the 360 pad or something.
Of the 2 games i have manager to play, i'm impressed. Hip fire recoil with the enigineers default gun is insane. That cloak thing is gonna be a tester of my nerve. Servers will need a lot of work ofc so they have got till the end of the month to get them to a reasonable standard. Perfect is too much to ask for at this early stage.

Whatever that thing is that makes the enemy look like you is damn annoying. I got killed many a time by people with that.

Infiltraitor, my favoured class in kz2, played it some last night after unlocking the 3rd primary unlock, got a 5 melee killstreak, was nice as they were all lined up for me and i didnt loose my disguise :D
Im playing all the classes at the moment though, have most of the medic unlocks and doing the tactican as they can capture spawn points, havent tried the engi yet or marksman.

Played this yesterday and deleted it after ten minutes as I thought it was total naff. Then I redownloaded it today and had a good hour and thought it was great, playing a medic with a little bot following me. :D

I kinda like Marksman with the default snipe gun (didnt like the other guns when i was testing with bots - i think u get all unlocks with bots)

Marksman with the shotgun pistol thing as backup :D

Or tactician coz i like their assault rifle.

How do you change from burst fire to full auto on the assault rifle for the Medic?

I dont have a problem with infiltrators as i shoot everybody anyway :D

dont really know what im doing but thats normal :)

As much as I liked KZ2 and this beta I'm hard pushed to tell the difference. Feels more like an expansion than a new game. Still getting it even though I suck at FPS+Joypad!!!

I've been playing it with the pad and Move controls. I know the Move controls are supposed to be more accurate than the Wii, but I'm really not feeling it at the minute. They're just not tight enough compared to Metroid Prime from the time I've put in so far. Keep faffing with the settings and getting some joy though. Don't think it helps the Navigation controller is a poor fit in my hand compared to the nunchuck.

Game wise though, I'm thoroughly enjoying it!

Pretty much sums up the Move controls for me as well. Don't think 5 mins goes past with out me changing a setting. Problem I have is not aiming but turning, keep turning too fast/slow or end up looking at the roof. Will take a while to get used to but for aiming I prefer it over the DS3.

I'm liking this but it's a luke warm reaction from me on the whole. The frame rate is the big problem imo. It just isn't good enough. I also really am getting fed up with the moaning sounds wounded players make when they need healing. It's almost the only thing you can hear at times when you're in a room with 3-4 downed people.

The clan system in this is terrible too and, if anything, a downgrade to KZ2's clan interface. I accidentally transferred ownership to Instig8 the other night and only the clan leader can send invites. Also, you can't create clan officers like you could in KZ2.

Really not sure about this one now. I think the problem nowadays is that with every new CoD release comes a higher level of expectation for FPS games in general. Black Ops, for all its faults, set the level so highly that KZ3 just doesn't seem to cut it at all.

feels less spammy than KZ2. Maybe coz no one had a nade launcher yet. (is it an unlock?) Only play operations and now at least i know the map a bit.

its not bad. no one revives though... like never. I swear some folks are cheating already but could be coz im crap withe the pad.

I always try to, not only do you get 50 points for a revive you also get a nice bonus if you revive more than anyone else. Sure the 'nade launcher is a secondry weapon and has less ammo, same for the RPG.

it was back up again. getting the hang of it more.

Have come across first player who seemed to be able to soak up almost an entire clip of the 3rd engineer gun (which i like :D) dunno how guess he was superman....

its annoying when rest of team does bugger all. I like that there is a report player button though ;)

quite like how it shows the lead players in the movie clips....unfortunately my guy was drowned....almost made it

Tried this last night, having got used to Move fps gaming on MAG, I'm finding the experience has been refined further. Theres a definite tangible advantage to using the Move imo, but you absolutely have to calibrate it well and play with the settings in KZ3 until you get the right feel.
I've not had to re calibrate during a session once myself, so if you're having to do that at all, then you're probably doing something wrong in the first place.
