According to a couple of game sites there will be an open beta test for the multiplayer part of killzone for the PS3 this year.

Guerilla's Seb Downie has jumped on the killzone.com boards and let fans of the game know that, in keeping with the year's fashion trends, they'll be holding a public beta for Killzone.

"Of course there is going to be a public beta. I have always said that any game that has an online mode needs to go through a public beta to ensure it works as intended."

Guess we'll have to wait and see, wonder if we'll have to buy an okish game which might not sell that well without it to get the beta??

I belive none of it until i see and download it. It is nothing more than an attempt to generarte hype....

Thats what i thought... Maybe we'll know more at the end of the week when the NDA for Sonys Gamer day is lifted, more likely E3 in july though.

What was wrong with the first one? I was actually really surprised with how much of a good game it was - looked gorgeous for a PS2 game, half-decent AI (better than most generic shooters now-a-days...) and interesting design elements!

Aslong as it's better than the first...

Never played the first one, but i thought the basics of the game was good and had some good ideas. Wasnt the problem the PS2 hardware couldnt cope as it had major frame rate and graphics issues, as well as poor AI. Cant really say much about Killzone 2 as all we have seen is a tech demo from the GDC so who knows.

I don't think it looked that bad. Also i quite like shooters that are more city based. But it was the AI and the voice acting that really got my goat, that's why i stopped playing it.

It looked pretty nice for a PS2 game yeah, but it did have a pretty poor framerate overall it always dipped down to when you could really notice it.
