Killzone Shadow Fall (PS4) **SP & MP Discussion**

playing this on normal for an hour and i can't get past the hack on the terminal when i'm supposed to be venturing towards the smoke from the craft crash.

i'm rusty at best on fps but this is tough and that ****ing owl ain't helping!

You may know this already but are you making sure to disable the alarms using the Owl when the enemie raises them? I got a on screen prompt to let me know that the enemies will keep on coming (in drop ships) if you don't do this.

If a group of enemies spots you one will always go for the alarm (the small towers with the orange screen at the bottom).

This caught me out initially when attempting to destroy the AA guns. I didn't spot the alarm tower on the lower level and was getting my ass handed to me by the constant waves of enemies (with the ruddy shotgun).

Just started the second chapter (space level) and so far I am loving the atmosphere and the sound engine.

I have watched some play throughs of the game so I know it becomes a little generic after a certain point but, so far I am finding it good fun.

I loved the SP, going to start a run through on hard soon. Didn't find any of it too difficult, and found it quite refreshing having to actually look around a bit in levels to work out where to go from time to time.

Not done much on the multiplayer yet, no one seems to be using a mic though which is a shame.

What do you guys think of the MP?

I tried it last night , only played a couple of matchs but the guns felt underpowered and slow unless I was just playing it ****.

graphics take a big hit from the campaign but that's to be expected

Are you sure they weren't stood behind a shield? The standard rifle easily kills in half a clip or less and the shotguns are brutal up close. I'm surprised you thought the graphics took a big hit, I thought it still looked great and was very smooth.

I seem to be stuck on the part where you are in space and have to open the airlock doors after escorting the train thing... Seems the train glides "through" the closed doors and then I'm left stuck on the outside!

Is this a bug or am I missing something obvious?

That sounds like a bug, I forgot about that bit - that was a terrible section.

Going to check this out later, if anyone feels like they need a new online compadre feel free to add me: crizzyfire

:)

i was playing this on normal and getting annoyed with getting so far and then being put way back from the check point.

deleted. starting again on easy :o

Really getting into this game. Thought Killzone was mediocre. 2 was dire and 3 was great. Thoroughly enjoying this one now it's getting into the swing of things. Technically very impressive.

Love how you can almost play the game how you want with having the owl there.

Lucky grenade is lucky!

I like how I run back to safety to "share" xD

See that's where CoD does something right for once. It would look so much better in a CoD replay and tracking the grenade with the camera.

I've not given MP a proper go of this, let me know if any of you fancy a game at some point.

I had a go on the SP and encountered the same checkpoint bug others have reported here (lost my progress and loaded into an earlier point in the game). Since then, I've not had any urge to play it and don't think I will again tbh. Just seemed like a really forgettable and generic campaign.

Fired up the MP and really like it. Nice and simple. Very little lag. The shotgun is crazily OP. I am finding myself dominating in most games by just running about and firing it from the hip. One hit kills with it and no aiming is required. It reminds me of KZ2 on the PS3 but the maps don't seem as epic. Graphics and frame rate are lovely and a great showcase for the PS4.

I am way more into other free to play games on the PS4 atm though. Shadow Fall isn't grabbing me enough.

The amazing thing with the checkpoint 'bug' is that apparently that's how it was designed! I've hardly played it because of this - I usually get 40mins to 1hr of gaming in a session which means it's incredibly difficult and frustrating to make any progress!

Hopefully they will patch it soon to save properly

New patch is out: http://community.killzone.com/t5/Killzone-Shadow-Fall-PS4/Killzone-Shadow-Fall-v1-07-Patch-Notes/td-p/1460667

Can't say I've seen many exploits in MP and nice that party members are blue on the map. Was kind of odd their name was a different colour in game but green on the map.

Wish they added a cap to gun drone air supports though... On some maps it gets ridiculous with 4+ of them hovering over an objective on warzones. Doesn't help when no one tries to help and take them out :\

Hated this, I picked it up 3 days ago 2nd hand whilst waiting for cod to arrive. Difficult and frustrating, I just cannot get on with it at all. I have given up at the crash site scene & put it back on ebay.

After pretty much hating this after playing the opening level proper (after you are a child), I have to say I've really enjoyed KZ up to now (chapter 6).

It seemed bizarrely hard and frustrating to start with until I sussed out what was what, but has been fairly easy since on medium difficulty.

i'm probably the only one who hasn't completed this and i've been stuck on a section for an hour today

it's the part where you shoot the cannister to release a vapour that you're supposed to float up on and follow the smoke? i can see a ship hovering but can't get near it. i keep dropping and/or hitting the rising boulders.

am i going about this in the right way?
