Can anyone recommend to me a good Kindle case, I have been put off by the negative reviews on the official ones, I hate the ones with the straps to hold the Kindle in place.

top price is £40 any third party ones?

Unless it was perfect I would be willing to go to £50.

Light handy, but not needed. - really struggling to find anything suitable.

I got my dad got one of the ones recommended by Amazon when I bought him the Kindle.

He seems to like it. In my opinion it doesn't look too bad either :)

It was a black leather one? About £30.

Mine sports the non lighted official Kindle case and I've never had any problems. It's nice and sturdy as well so should protect the Kindle from any knocks or bangs (provided they're not administered by a lump hammer).

Sell you mine for 30 squid?

I have the official one from Amazon for the old Kindle, not the current generation. I quite like it outside is hard and protective, inside feels nice and the light comes in handy on occasions. £50 was a bit expensive though.

Maybe I should stop looking at reviews and just buy one I like?

Been looking on amazon all morning with now a dull headache.

Maybe, although if you find something with loads of 5* reviews you know it's going to be a good product whereas if you go for something random then you could potentially get rubbish.

I've been looking at the "TeckNet® NEW Kindle Premium Folio Case / Cover With Magnetic Clasp for NEW Amazon Kindle / 6 inch / 2011 generation / Book Style - Includes Kindle Rear Protector - Black" myself - only £9, 181 5* reviews.

Not 100% sure on that one yet though, might just get a slip case so at least I can enjoy it's nice lightness/thinness and also have that protection when I throw it into a bag.

The actual Kindle Accessories section doesn't seem to include a load of products, so you'll be best off searching in all departments.

The only negative about the official case is the expense otherwise it's great - looks good and protects it well without daft straps.

I've got one of those and the only thing against it is the cost. It's just fine for travel.

People talking about the official Amazon cases - are you talking about the new Kindle case or the previous one? I have the Kindle Keyboard and my case is awesome, but have got my OH the new kindle for Christmas and the reviews for the new cases are awful. By all accounts they are much flimsier and don't have a strap to keep them closed, so they just flap open. I've gone with this one:

But I know you said you didn't like the ones that have straps to hold it in place - there doesn't seem to be many other options.

I have this one by Duragadgtet - £15.50

Only annoyances is at the top where the case bows out and causes a shadow. Easily fixed with a blob of blue-tac.

It's great for reading at work when I'm having mylunch.

I probably dump it for a TimBuk2 sleeve next year.
