Kinect headed to the PC

That an opinion about kinect games, I take it? What about operating your PC with your voice and movements? There's at least one member of these boards who could use such features to make his life easier. And while we're there - think of the scientific research potential this holds.

I got a mouse for all the fast responses I need in games etc, and the user you are on about does very well with a mouse and his chin. Plus can he move his arms/hands for the Kinect?

This is cool I loved playing the railcart game where you jump over hurdles and slide left/right to avoid obstacles. Made me sweat, should be fun with others.

I would possibly buy this for my HTPC. IF the gesture recogntion was good enough then it could be pretty sweet navigating the menus and controlling media functions with a simple hand gesture.

Really keen on getting this for my HTPC. It's due to be released tomorrow but there seems to be next to no information available about prices or where to buy from?

Kinect Headed to Windows in 2012, the article was written last November. You should have read it before posting.:D
Um....

The OP posted in November 2011 saying that Kinect was heading to Windows "next year". We're now in the next year, I bumped this thread instead of starting a new one. :p

AFAIK it's the same hardware as the Xbox Kinect. As thats already been hacked to work on Windows, so IIRC this is just the launch of the official SDK.

I heard it wasn't going to be the same bit of kit and wouldn't be compatible with the 360, and the 360 one wouldn't be compatible with the PC software. Due to the PC one being better.
Nothing like a good bit of anecdotal evidence :D
